The bag your granddaughter will fight over.
Most bags are built to be replaced. This one is built to be handed down. Every Old State tote starts as a full hide of world-class leather and ends as a bag that only gets better the longer you carry it — soft where your hand falls, richer in color every season, still standing when the trendy bag is long gone.
THE LEATHER
We build only with full-grain leather from the world's great tanneries-Horween of Chicago, working since 1905, or Badalassi Carlo of Tuscany, heir to a centuries-old Italian vegetable-tanning tradition. No plastic coating, no corrected grain - just honest hide that ages like good boots.
THE HANDS
One bag, one pair of hands. Each tote is cut, built, and finished to order - hand-set copper rivets, cream contrast stitching, edges burnished slick by hand, a natural veg-tan interior. Not a factory line. A workbench in Kentucky, one bag at a time.
THE LIFE
This is a bag with a fifty-year plan. Leather this good doesn't wear out-it breaks in. A wipe-down now and then is all the care it asks. Scuffs become character. In ten years it will look like it cost twice as much. In thirty, it'll be an heirloom.

ABOUT THE MAKER
Old State Leather is the work of one craftsman — a former U.S. Marine who took up leather to slow down and build things that last. Everything is made right here in western Kentucky, by hand, and signed with a mark that means someone stands behind it. Buy the bag, and you're not funding a brand.
You're backing a neighbor's craft.
